This type of CAT5E direct burial cable features a flooded gel core, which helps protect the cable from water underground. This cable features a tough LLDPE jacket and can be buried directly underground. For a longer cable lifetime, conduit is recommended. This cable also comes in a shielded variety to protect from EMI in highly wired areas. This cable is not recommended for use in cell towers, as the inside gel may leak out when the cable is installed vertically.
